Is it just me or does it feel like everyone is escaping to a little cabin in the woods? Whether they’re buying one for a getaway or just taking a weekend off, I’m spying lots of people in cabins for good reason: an escape from the ordinary routine of life in the rustic outdoors is a recipe for relaxation.
There’s not many things a walk in the woods can’t cure. The idea of a cabin getaway sounds so appealing right now after an especially challenging year. How lovely it would be to play outdoors by day and sit and read by the fire by night.
Last year I featured tours of A Frame cabins and treehouse vacation rentals, and earlier this year I featured some desert getaways. Today I’m sharing a few cabins across the USA to bookmark for a getaway to the woods. Click on the links for full tours and cabin style inspiration!

I need you to remove the Mt Hood one from this post! 🤣🤣 it’s beautiful, affordable and definitely going to be booked ASAP by me! Unless it gets too popular now because of your post. Haha
Always love your posts!

This is why every single bike is sold, you can’t buy camping gear, everyone is in the woods :) Great round up Kate!
thanks friend! this trend is predictable, we saw the rise of camping and trailer and RV purchases here in the States this summer. :)
You are right. I live in northern Wisconsin and real estate is selling like crazy and rentals are booked months in advance. Apparently many people are seeking a refuge from our very crazy world.
not surprising! :)
LUV THESE EXAMPLES!!! Finally….our little log cabin is “coming back” into vogue… :) franki
Hi, the link for the Smoky Mountains cabin takes you to the Sandy River, OR cabin. Can you help me locate the Smoky Mountains cabin?
Thank you,
Suzanne
Oh wow so sorry Suzanne let me look it up for you!
Kate
Okay Suzanne I edited it for you, now the link will take you right to the cabin :)
I love your options, and might suggest just one more. Our fun little round house on Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri overlooks the water, and sits on over an acre of open land in the little village of Shell Knob. Built from a kit in 1976 and purchased by us two years ago, the place was lovingly restored by my husband and me, and has now become a vacation rental. Take a look at http://www.SeeYouRound.com.
