Summer hellos from California! I’ve done all the laundry and recovered from vacation. This weekend I’ll be spending at home, attending a BBQ and taking a drive to the coast on Sunday to buy seafood from the local fishermen since it’s salmon season, one of the perks of living near the coast!
Next week it’s back to full time work and monitoring the progress of our flip house project. I have plans to visit Portland at the end of the month and I’ll be driving the Oregon coast home on my return. Please send any recommendations for vistas, cafes, or unique not-to-miss spots my way!

Re: Portland, If you like pizza, Escape from New York on NW 23rd is a must. It’s been around forever and is still the best pizza. The lengths my family will go for some Escape are the stuff of lore.
We live in Portland, but have a beach home in Gleneden Beach just south of Lincoln City. If you’re traveling through that area there is a little place called “The Sidedoor Cafe” on Gleneden Beach Loop that has incredible food and isn’t well-known other than to the locals there. A little farther south on Hwy 101 just as you get into Depoe Bay is a small restaurant named “Tidal Raves” with incredible food and to die for views of the ocean.
