Weekend Reading

By Kate Riley April 7, 2017

Oh wow you guys so much happening in the world right now. It’s hard to focus on work and design when there is so much going that is far more serious. I’ll be paying close attention all weekend.

Anyway, I do have some diversions planned. Tonight I’m attending a local play and tomorrow I’ll be having dinner with one of my oldest friends. Sunday I’m picking out tile for my master bedroom fireplace makeover and getting started on that next week. By the way, thanks for all your kind and encouraging comments on the plan for the One Room Challenge!

Favorite links from the week below:

This elegant home tour, well done Paloma!

I always find layered blues with dark wood appealing.

I’m in love with this sunroom. The ceiling and the fireplace!

A lovely renovation of the interiors in this Nantucket cottage.

Wow, these DIY painted patio floor tiles. Heart!

Another cool DIY: plywood base globe terrariums.

Hmmm, is there too much white here?

  1. Hi Kate. The last few emails, the links have not worked. They work when I go to your site, but I am an email subscriber. Thought you would want to know. I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for all the effort you put into them.

  2. I can’t get over Paltrow’s kitchen….one word…sterile and boring. No personality. But hey…she must like it, but you did ask if it was too much white. Seems white is all the rage with designers. It took the place of gray for now. I love my yellows so that’s my happy place.

  3. I agree – that’s a whole lot of white! Adding in a little pop of colour would make such a difference but then again, if I have $10m to spend, I’d put some aside for a pot of paint!

  4. The last one: You are allowed to leave: Her blog is wow, Thank you for that one. A lot of girls and guys need to read it. Eye opener for those girls with the disease to please. I was one of those and didn’t know I had options. All you girls out there, take a look at Raina’s blog.
