BOTB 1.30.14

By Kate Riley January 30, 2014

Hello all! It’s been a long week, I’ve been busy with a lot of non blog worthy things and it’s kept me away but as a result Matt and I have decided to turn a regular weekend into a three day staycation to take advantage of some down time, so I’m sharing the Best of the Blogosphere links early. Enjoy this roundup of inspiring projects and ideas gathered around the web in our regular series !

Not to be missed is this nursery for little Wren by Shea McGee, the classic touches are so pretty! (see Jan 9th blog entry).

  1. Um Katie, you had some incorrect info in your post, the Seahawks are going to beat the Broncos. :)

  2. Love those nurseries and I’m definitely booking marking those instructions for the industrial light fixture. That might come in handy down the road since we didn’t include a new pendant light in our dining room makeover.

  3. Love that kitchen! Not exactly what I’d do except for the white cabinets and the tile floor (with lighter grout), but it’s small like mine and best of all, it’s so obviously a “real person lives there” kitchen and wonderfully inviting. It’s definitely another pic for my Kitchen Ideas file.

And that kitchen island – neat! No room in my kitchen but I’m tearing out the 6′ bank of too-deep and unusable lower cabinets in my laundry room off the kitchen, and a talented neighbor/friend is building me a narrow 6′ freestanding table to sit in that corner and act as a roof for the 3-kitty bathroom (litter boxes) back in the corner out of the way. Since I’m going for a sorta white French country look, the island is an absolutely perfect inspiration!

Now back for another look to see what else inspires me. Thanks, Kate, for the BOTB pics, and totally enjoy your long weekend.

  4. ha–my fav part of this post….was the broncos line. i am a die hard peyton manning fan. here’s hoping to his second Super Bowl ring.

  5. I was just about to throw out an old ripped lampshade when I saw the pic on upscaling them. I’m now thinking I would like to reuse my shade like the pic and maybe add some bling by using crystals, metal strips, or something to dangle on the inside. Thanks.

  6. Thanks so much for including our kitchen in your round up, Kate! Those nurseries are gorgeous and those copper pendants to die for. Go Broncos!!

  7. The nursery looks great, it is a lucky boy to be born into such lovely environment :).

The steel pipe chandelier is wonderful, it has the right steampunk feeling, and the whisky-box table is top-notch!
