Happy September, it’s my favorite month! I love this time of year when it’s still warm out but you can feel fall in the air. I ordered an outdoor dining table for our courtyard so we could enjoy meals al fresco for the next few months. I’m setting it up later today with linens and flameless hurricane candles so it’s ready to go when dinner is served.
In just a few days I’ll be celebrating my silver wedding anniversary. Whaaaatt??? I know, crazy! We’ve been married 25 years so we’re taking a trip to Maui next week where we spent our honeymoon. I’m excited, I haven’t been to Hawaii since 2017 so it will be nice to return and enjoy the spirit of aloha for a few days.

Been going to Maui every year for over 40 years and wanted to give you a list of a few of our favorite things to do and places to eat.
Hookipa Beach to watch windsurfers and sea turtles sunning on the beach
Paia Fishmarket for the freshest fish sandwiches and dinners in Kihei
Komodo Bakery, Makawao for malasadas, stick donuts, rolls. Explore the shops there.
Flatbread pizza in Paia. Lots of shops to explore. Always check out Maui Hands – everything made local.
Ululanis shave ice in Kihei (long lines) and Nalu’s in Kihei for dinner
GG Gyros and Gelato in Kiehei – best lamb gryros ever!!
These are all casual dining, but some of the best food on the island.
Make plans to get out on the water with a dinner cruise or snorkeling. Won’t be any whales this time of year, unfortunately.
Always spread aloha, Maui has had a tough time since the Lahaina fire!
Enjoy and aloha nui loa,
