Merry Christmas to All

By Kate Riley December 21, 2023

Holiday hellos from our house! I’ve been living in my coziest clothes all week, grateful that the gifts have all arrived, but I still need to wrap some more. I picked up a cold over the weekend at our big holiday market so I’ve been getting lots of rest to be well for all the Christmas fun this weekend.

I kept the holiday decor more minimalist than ever this year. A simple tree in the family room, some garland in the living room, and a few wreaths around the house, mixed in with the plants that I kept in place.

During this season, I love to bring fresh evergreens indoors and mix them with simple decor in white and gold, it makes our house feel merry and bright, and it’s less to clean up when the holidays are over. :)

2023 was a fantastic year, I was able to travel to Malta, Istanbul, Paris, and Netherlands and also opened up a local shop where I sell my art prints, ceramics, and curated gifts. I advanced in my ceramics practice and will continue improving my skills next year as a member at my local clay studio.

I plan to spend a few more months in Florida in 2024 where more projects await: three full bedroom makeovers and a dining space too. The hope is for both of us (fingers crossed) to move to that state full time by 2025. We’ve been blessed with health and harmony all year and I’m looking forward to all the new things coming our way.

I’ll continue with more content on the blog next week, but meanwhile, wishing everyone a big cup of cheer and a very Merry Christmas!

  1. I too went very minimal this year – I love the feeling of space without clutter(ing up my mind) 😊 funny I plan on spending several months in FL and WI in the next year and also we are also planning a move in 2025 fingers crossed. Good heath and happiness to you and yours in New Year 2024!

  2. Dear Kate,
Merry Christmas to you and yours, too – I love your minimal Christmas deco – since I have small chrildren, we still go a bit overboard (mostly with decoration they have made), but I long for grown-up decor…. probably in a few years’ time. :)
