Weekend Reading 7.10.22

By Kate Riley July 10, 2022

It’s been so nice having my family with me this week! We’ve visited the beach several times to watch the sunset, and went on a kayak trip through mangrove tunnels. We work on the house in the mornings and go play in the afternoon and evenings, it’s lovely. We’ve acclimated to the climate here, it’s very warm and we get summer rains, but I love how different it is and I’m soaking it all in!

We’ve made a lot of progress on the house renovations. The hall bathroom should be complete in about a week. We had to hire a specialist to replace a well pump since our landscaping is tied to well water although the house uses city water. I’ve set up a relaxing little office space for myself, I’ll share that later this week. And in between I’ve been working on some new art prints inspired by the amazing botanicals here in Florida.

Favorite links from the week:

Pretty and fun: the pink tile in this girls bathroom.

Small yet elegant: this 950 square foot architect’s apartment.

Beautiful: these illusion wedding gowns for black women.

The plans to update the Notre Dame cathedral.

A lovely poem about knowing your worth.
