Weekend Reading

By Kate Riley November 17, 2019

Mid November greetings to you all. I saw somewhere some quote labeling this month NO-vember and it made me smile because that’s become a mantra for me, saying no to the things I don’t want to do especially during the holidays. Last year, I radically purged all my holiday decor and reduced my collection to my favorite timeless pieces, the white ceramic reindeer and trees, the boxwood wreath, the mixed metals metallic wreath, etc. I decided I’d decorate this year with just my favorites, however, I did buy a few stripe stockings at Target from the Hearth & Hand collection, they were just too cute to pass up, but that’s it for the year. :)

I’m hyper focused right now on a new venture. I’m building a new website, it’s something I’ve been wanting to for some time and I’m finally doing it. I’m aiming for a January launch so if you hear a little less from me during the holiday season, you’ll know that’s why. I’m keeping it low key and simple for the next six weeks in order to keep that promise to myself and launch the new site. I’ll have more information on what it’s all about in December. Meanwhile…

… favorite links from the week:

So beautiful and fresh: the sugar plum and blush palette holiday home tour.

Festive all winter long: the oversized paper stars hung in Melissa’s kitchen.

Simple and chic, these DIY marble paint pour ornaments.

I love the modern sunroom and outdoor kitchen attached to this Denmark home.

They saved you the research and tested the best way to mash potatoes.

Why being near water makes us happier.

Fascinating: this story on the endless storm on Jupiter’s surface.

.

I’ll be popping in to share some gift ideas over the next two weeks. :)

  1. Hi there! I tried looking in your resources page, but I couldn’t find where you sourced that rug? It would be perfect in our house!!
