Weekend Reading

By Kate Riley March 25, 2017

I spent yesterday planning out my summer, booking a few camps for the kids and making reservations for a few short trips I’m taking. This week I took my 11 year old son to see Alton Brown’s Eat Your Science show in San Francisco, it was hilarious and I highly recommend it if you’re a fan! We thoroughly enjoyed it and Alton just announced many more dates across the country.

This weekend I’m moving all the furniture out of the master bedroom since the flooring guys are coming on Wednesday to install new hardwood floors upstairs (yay!) to replace the old carpet. I’ve been waiting to do this for years, and at last it’s happening! I can’t wait until they’re done since I’ll be giving my master bedroom decor an update too. I’ll share the final results here of course!

Favorite links from the week:

So sweet: nursery nook in a closet.

Cheap and chic: DIY PVC pipe desk organizer.

All the trees in the United States.

Agreed! Beautiful spring palette color trends.

  1. Loved the color trends link, thanks for sharing that! You are much farther along in your summer planning than I am… And far more organized about it! I have NO idea what I’m doing yet, but I do know I’d like to return to the Sparks (KS) flea market, and pretty sure I’m going to Florida in September. Reservations yet? Ha – what are those? Lol

  2. Just curious . . . . several times I’ve clicked on your weekend links and they take me to a business site. Thinking it was an error, I clicked a second time & it goes to the proper link. Not the end of the world but just curious. Is this deliberate or is someone hacking your site?

      • This last time was with the Target link. Went to Asien’s appliance in Santa Rosa. Not always Asien’s, I recall one went to some construction supplier in the mid west. Tis weird!
