I’m headed to Las Vegas later this week to spend a few days working on the house. I’ll be tiling a fireplace and getting started on the hall bathroom. It’s a full bathroom with shower that is shared by the two bedrooms and is also used by guests since this is a single story home. I want it to be practical and pretty, and also not blow my remodeling budget.
I went looking for a single sink vanity that was both attractive and affordable. The flooring will also be replaced so I am looking for a freestanding style instead of cabinet base style. Prices are all over the place, I want one that will fit that niche seen in the picture above. I also want one that comes with a top since I don’t want to deal with fabricating a new countertop in here.
The palette will be classic and neutral since this is a flip. Also I don’t want to spend more than $1,000 on the vanity. Since the walls will be white I’m looking to create contrast with wood or a gray finish so I’m considering these four:
james martin / espresso hardwood / winterfell / legion
I’d love to do a patterned tile on the floor in here since it’s a smaller space, that would add a nice detail. I’ve got two in mind, and I’ve ordered samples so as soon as they arrive I can make a final decision on the vanity. I’m excited to transform this space! I’ll keep you posted on the bathroom as the project progresses. :)
Salvage yard? They might not have them in Vegas! Wayf air too, but I am sure you already know about them! Have fun!
We recently remodeled our bathroom and chose this vanity from Versiniti (hopefully my link works!). The top is a solid white quartz from a local stone company. It ended up being a little more than I wanted to spend ($1400!) but I was having a hard time finding something in the desired dimensions and color. The color we chose is “toasted almond”.
Looks kinda nice, the third one looks really stylish !
I know that it will depend on the floor tile, but I like the first James Martin vanity. The third one, winterfell, is really lovely too, but I’m not a fan of the marble countertop at least the way it appears in the photo. Can’t wait to see which one you select!
Very timely post, Kate. I’m working on planning my bathroom redos as we speak. My 1980’s master had the vanity/sink off the bedroom with a 42″ vanity and the useless dumb dropdown makeup counter. Ditched the dropdown counter a couple of weeks ago and have moved in a chest of drawers that I’ll refinish . Not sure of the vanity color yet but like the James Martin in style and color. In the guest bath, the hideous large custom vanity/sink that ends in a funky angled wall on one end and a porkchop leg over the toilet on the other end is coming out and I’ll be replacing it with a 30′ standalone. I want similar in style to your other three options though I don’t dig dark furniture nor marble nor grey cabinets that are not either weathered or greenish gray. Still, inspirational. Will also be eager to see what you’re thinking for the floors.
Sounds like a good plan Sandy, I’m anxious to pull this bathroom space together too!
