Bathroom Update with MirrorMate + Giveaway

By Kate Riley April 28, 2015

My cousin Jason and his wife Jodi have a welcoming home in Las Vegas, I visit with their family every time I am in town. For those familiar, they live in the historic McNeil neighborhood of vintage homes all with retro flair. They wanted to freshen up the hall bathroom that their three children share so Jason sent me this image.

Their bathroom is very cute, I love the vintage blue laminate countertop and you can’t see it but the enamel tub is the same shade of blue, both are original to the house and perfect for a kid bathroom. To give it a new look without spending a lot of money I recommended they keep the countertop, swap out the faucets, replace the shower curtain, paint over the tan walls with fresh white paint, and update the mirror with a MirrorMate frame, and so they did!

On my last visit I stopped by to see the changes, they chose the Pemaquid in white, now the space is brighter and fresher, it’s amazing what a few small changes can do.

MirrorMate has been a long time sponsor of this blog and I’ve been a long time fan of their product (flashback 2011). They’re the ones who make it easy to update your builder grade mirror and give it a custom look, and the process is so simple: You pick your favorite style, fill out their online form, and await your new frame that is easy to assemble and install.

Take your frameless mirror and give it a whole new look!

  1. What a great idea! I love the Bellemeade Vintage Silver. Thanks for hosting this giveaway. Fingers crossed.

  2. I am familiar with MirrorMate and would love to update my master bath mirror.

  3. Thanks for hosting this giveaway…… & I love the advice that you gave on the bathroom redo, it is so fresh & clean & retro…. I love the blue fixtures. I am not sure that I wouldn’t have told them to rip them out & start over. Well done! Well done!

  4. We did these in our master bath and they were super easy and look totally custom and phenomenal. I’m planning to do our guest bath next.

Such an amazing and easy solution!

  5. The transformations are all amazing!! Waterside Oyster and Bellemeade Vintage Champagne are probably my two very favorites, but they’re all gorgeous.

  6. Cherokee Mocha Walnut for me, thank you. I’ve actually been looking at these–found an ad in the back of a magazine–and have a mirror in a bathroom that needs help!

  7. I just watched the video and was awed by how SIMPLE it is to take a “blah” mirror and turn into a framed beauty. Gramercy Chardonnay anyone?? And let’s not miss the fact that it is made in the USA!!!

  8. I’ve loved the projects you’ve done using Mirromate and would love to upgrade my mirrors.

  9. So I’m supposed to love my blue bathroom counter top??? I’ll give it some thought!

  10. I love the Waterside Seafoam, Lexington Sky Marble and the Mediterra Glazed stone. All of them are just beautiful!

  11. I have a perfect candidate for this in my master bath. What a great idea! I should probably go with white, but I love the Venetian bronze wave.

  12. I never heard of MirrorMate or this type of product before. I am super excited to update my late ’80’s bathroom but the mirror is glued to the wall; every time I think about starting, it becomes overwhelming. This could be the answer to a big part of my project anxiety!

    Thank you so much!!
