Hello hello and happy weekend! Here’s a few links that Abi and I rounded up for you for the ‘Best of the Blogosphere’ picks, enjoy!
Paint bold stripes on your plain Jane window panels with Carol from The Design Pages.
Isn’t Ashley from The Handmade Home so clever? She made this rustic pendant fixture for her kids’ room with a planter from a home improvement store.
Traci at Beneath My Heart has mad DIY skills, and this week she showed us her skirted desk. She constructed and stained the table, then skirted it with a drop cloth, and she shows you how you can make one too.
Paint a festive bunting on your tablecloth with Creature Comforts. Lovely in pink, don’t you think? I can see this in fall colors too, perhaps with “give thanks” written on top.
Lindsay teaches you everything you need to know about sandpaper at Living with Lindsay.
Add decorative moldings above your doors with Missy’s tutorial over at My Cottage Charm.
Mrs. Limestone shares her “inexpert” guide to taking better travel photos, but if you follow her blog, you know Mrs. Limestone is a pro!
Has social media become a frenzy? Gina at The Shabby Creek Cottage asks the important question, “When is all just too much? “ Join the conversation and share your thoughts.
Thanks for your help rounding up picks this week Abi! Hop over to say hello at Abi’s blog Gadding Gal.

And i’m heading right over to join the discussion….sometimes it does feel like it’s all too much! It’s overwhelming to even try and keep up with it all! I just do the things that bring me joy and forget the rest:):)

Great stuff. I had already spotted the curtains, but most of the other stuff was new to me. Checking it all out, especially the light.
Thanks for BOTB, love checking out these wonderful people and places!
♥ the BOTB info…thanks so much for putting it all together!
I would like to add a couple of tips to the painted drapes idea. I did this several years ago for curtains in my girls’ room, but ran into a couple of problems. You need to be careful to make sure you get paint in every fiber, because if you don’t the light shines through the fabric in those spots and makes them appear unpainted. Also, these don’t wash well – the paint becomes crackled. Which may not have been an issue if I’d added something called acrylic fabric paint medium to my paint. Didn’t even know it existed back then, but I do now since I discovered the world of design and diy blogs :)
Hey Kate and Ali…thanks for the BOTB feature! Our electricity has been out for two days (nasty storms!) and I didn’t even know my door header molding had been featured until Traci emailed me and told me that she and I had been featured together! lol Thanks for including me!
Hugs to you both!
