Watching the leaves fall from the trees reminds me of how much I am drawn to branches used in decor. I found some interesting accessories online, and also some out-of-the-box uses for branches.
First, here are some dynamic images that inspire me these days.

Of course, the best season of all to decorate with branches is coming up quickly. I can’t wait for the pine, fir, and cedar branches, covered with ribbons and ornaments and all things seasonal, that come with the Christmas holiday !
And there is still time to enter the CabinetKnob.com Giveaway, for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate for some home improvement. Giveaway ends Wednesday, October 21st at 8 p.m. PST. Don’t miss out !
What beautiful photos! I love the look of branches in all types of settings. In fact, I was just thinking about using the branches that are all over the place here – after our crazy storms last week – to finish up (I actually mean begin) my Halloween decor. Thanks!
Holly
these are lovely! thanks for sharing!
Oh I love the branches, too! They look lovely in the fall and winter, when everything starts to look like that. The images you shared as inspiration and in your home are gorgeous.
I was just in West Elm last week and they had a huge branch hanging over a table with lights on it. They guy that worked there was telling me he had worked on it the day before. It wasn’t for me but I do like the ones that you have in your house.
I still think yours are the best. :) I do like the Martha Stewart and Domino images as well, and I think the Apartment Therapy stocking stick is too cute. :)
I love these ideas! So creative yet easy DIY projects!
Beautiful pictures! I especially like the ones from Apartment therapy. Inspiring!
I had taken an 8 foot tree branch which had dropped off an old tree at our home up north and created a railing for my stairs. The branch is about 2″ at the thickest spot and is anchored with those metal brackets that hold a railing to the wall.
First I had sanded it down and varnished about 6 times, to ensure it would stay gorgeous and be wipeable. [all those nice dirty hand germs over the years]
BUT…since we have no longer got our home up north….. I have this wonderful reminder of my youth, my parents and the beauty of the nature we had around us, now with me for many more years to come.
It gets compliments from everyone who has never seen it before!
LOVE BRANCHES.
yumm I love branches too! I have some in an urn sitting in the LR- then I tied a wought iron “E” (for our last name) on one of the branches- may hang some mercury glass balls on it for Chrismtas! Because we live in a very wooded area- I have a storehouse of branches and twigs to choose from-its trying to find the ones without little critters -thats another story!
These are terrific pictures and fill my head with ideas of how I can add even more branches than I already have. I have always had a love for trees, looking up through the leaves of spring to the icicle laden branches of winter. I was so stoked that trees and birds for that matter showed up in decor. I loved every single one of these ideas! Thanks (you’ll get no thanks from my hubby though because it means another decorating project!)
I actually saw the last one with the stockings and have told hubby that I’d like to do that in our home! I love branches :)
Blooming branches are the best. Also, I love the jewelry holder… too cute!
wow, i love all these looks. i especially love the branches shooting out of big vases. unfortunately, my cats would attack and destroy them! :(
I love branches in decor…I need to take a trip to my Dad’s back yard! (I get the best ones from there and the price is just right!)

Funny thing! I gathered up a whole bunch of branches from the park the other day and plan to spray them for the upcoming holiday. I’ll take some photos too, but I’m glad to see I’m not crazy (since those at the park thought I was!)
Amazing how images can breathe life into us. Thanks for that. Holly at lifelaughlatte.blogspot.com
I’ve always like the look of branches. I’m going to look for some on a hike this weekend and put something together, or at least try.
Love that image! I made a huge mistake this fall in my garden, I trimmed my Spring flowering branches down in August thinking they’d still have time to grow for the spring. Wrong. So sad, I won’t have them next year.
Love all of these ideas. My favorite has to be the one with the hanging lights!
I have a project in the works with some branches! I’ll keep you posted!!
I love this. Very cool picture.
Oh my gosh just beautiful. Last year I “stole” some branches from the tree that is between mine and our neighbors, sprayed them white and covered them with beads and glitter to put in a christmas jar! Looked beautiful and was cheap too
Im having a giveaway over at my blog: littlemissheirlooms.blogspot.com if you would like to drop by and check it out!

Love it! I just recently have been using branches all over my house, too! It’s getting to be an addiction. Lately, everytime I pick up our yard of all branches, they end up in my basement workshop :) Thanks for sharing!
What great inspiration! I used to have a tall basket by our fireplace that I put twigs and branches in during the fall. I miss that basket.
I absolutely love these ideas of using branches! What a classy look! I have been using wall decals from http://www.wallslicks.com with their designs of branches. After reading this article I got some beautiful long branches and placed them in a large vase on a shelf in front of the decals. Each enhanced the other and it looks fantastic!
