Helloooo and happy Monday friends, welcome to another week. I am enjoying the much slower pace that June and July brings, yesterday we spent a few hours relaxing at a friend’s house by their swimming pool (remember Cheryl’s outdoor makeover?) The Warriors’ victory was the perfect end to the weekend! #dubnation
Today I’m sharing the outdoor poolside cabana-ish covered patio I styled for hayneedle.com a few weeks ago. Several months ago the company approached me with the opportunity to transform a plain outdoor space into a poolside oasis so I was delighted to partner with them and combine a variety of their outdoor furnishings and accessories to create a relaxing outdoor room at the Las Vegas house we’ve been remodeling. Someday it will become a rental, so I pulled together a space for our family, friends, and future tenants to enjoy.
You’ll recall a few months ago I wrote about the pool remodel, in the “before” picture of the covered patio below you’ll notice the old tile. After the makeover, the adjacent covered patio felt barren and boring, enter hayneedle.com to inspire a poolside paradise.
Before
After
So often we want to bring the outdoors into our homes, but this space was the reverse, it was bringing the indoors out by combining a comfortable sofa, rug, curtains, art, and accessories to create an oasis outside.
Across from the Coral Coast Conversation Set seen above is the most wonderful piece, it’s the Bali Hai potting bench/bar cart that I assembled myself, I love the contrast between the rich wood tones and stainless steel top, a piece that is versatile used as either a potting bench, as a bar, or simply for extra storage.

amazing backyard Kate! I am sure anyone who uses that space will enjoy it.
I love indoor spaces that migrate outdoors! The rug anchors it all so beautifully!
Beautiful! So envious of your hot tub. I love the addition of the curtain to the covered patio!
Looks beautiful! I’m so disappointed that the great looking potting bench/bar cart is out of stock but appreciate the idea and will keep an eye out for a similar sturdy cart.
It’s an oasis indeed. Perfect for the hot summer weekends when you can’t escape the city.
having our new home built this giveaway is very timely!! I got some great ideas off of your post because our new patio is set up very much like this one.

Yes, I saw that yesterday Sheila, so sorry about that, if you bookmark or Pin it, you could purchase it down the road, I’ll find out when they will have more of the potting bench in stock.
Gorgeous! I love the vivid blue; it perfectly reflects the pool. I’d love to relax here! Well done!
Love the use of the curtains on the patio! The curtains really make it feel like an outdoor “room” and not just an outdoor area.

The makeover looks fresh and inviting! I too live in Vegas and have the same patio cover. I especially love the curtains. We’ve been trying to figure out how to do this on the alumawood. Did you use hooks with an adhesive backing?
So inviting and cool! Well done. One question, how did you hang the curtains? Did you mount rods or something? Would really like to know as this is an obstacle we are trying to figure out with our own patio.
With cup hooks Sian :)
It`s a state of art, the colors and textures are so fresh. This will be the best place to relax during summer. We have a small pool, so I`ll steal some of your ideas. Thank you for the inspiration!
Gorgeous backyard and pool! I also live in Vegas and have been enjoying the remodeling of your house and pool. Our house and pool are at a point of needing some major remodeling as well. Love getting ideas and inspiration from your blog! Thank you!
Love it all and you have all my favorite colors! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
Kate, I love following your great decorating ideas. This poolside retreat is the best…. I love all the colors. Love Hayneedle too.

This is my favourite makeover along with the pool! I could move right in. The only thing is now the far side of the pool looks a bit lonely. :( Maybe some plants around the base of the palm tree?
Ha yes! That’s coming soon Teresa !
Great giveaway! So summery!
So sad that potting bench is out of stock. So excited when I saw it, I’ve been searching forever for the perfect one by our grill. Hopefully it will come back in stock soon.
I love the potting bench, but I also love the throw pillows you chosel.
